Dvdrw burning

Hey, what it is i am trying to burn a dvd from another dvd, my cd rom cannot read certain disk and i dont know why, it will only read dvd+r and not dvd-r is there any way i could upgrade my cdrom to read them, i can burn a dvd+r to dvd+rw but cannot burn the dvd_rw to a dvd+r my dvd ram will read anything i think it is the cdrom which cannot read all types. what can i do? Princettax
