Hey I don't know if someone posted about this before but I couldn't find anything.

I've been trying to burn a few movies with Nero but everytime I put a DVD into my DVD burner, the Take Action screen that comes up (In windows XP), shows the DVD as being a CD, and Nero ends up failing the burning process because it thinks my DVD's are CD's

I've tried multiple DVD's and the problem still persists. How can I make my drive tell the difference that it's a damn DVD and not a stupid CD

Which version of NERO? Which burner? Which OS? What type of media?

    Try this:
Cancel that dialog that comes up when you insert the disc.
Then, open NERO and click the media information or disc information button.
    What does it say?

    It's Nero 7 Premium,

Also I'm unsure which exact burner it is, it came stock with a Dell Dimension 9100 Desktop purchased more then a year or two ago with a dual core processor.
It's Windows XP is the OS and I tried Sony DVD+R's as the media
I'll do what you said about getting the disc info button momentarily and post it
