USB Floppy Drive does not boot from esc-elitegroup L7VMM3 mainboard.

Selecting USB FDD in Bios or other device does not change situation.

Can someone help ?

Should I upgrade BIOS to newest version (there is only a version for L7VMM3 Vers. 1.1, which does not match my revision Vers. 1.0 C) ?

fruitless tries:
- changing boot devices: no cure
- disabling other boot devices: no cure
- USB Floppy reads/writes through file explorer: ok
- Floppy boots in fixed FDD: ok

Configurations:
Mainboard: Elitegroup L7VMM3 Vers. 1.0 C
Processor: AMD Athlon XP
Bios: Award 25/Dec/2003
OS: WinXP Pro SP1

You should never try any BIOS not meant exactly for your motherboard.

As for the booting problem.. Most BIOSes have broken USB boot support. Only laptop makers seem to take extra care that their machines would boot from all sorts of devices properly.

If you need a removable boot solution then you could try a USB flash drive. They usually come with some utility to make them bootable and there is also a program from HP that works with most all USB sticks.
