emachine just wont do anything!

  1. i had a e machine w2888 and it wouldnt do anything so i figured power supply or motherboard. i have changed both i upgraded the power supply to a 450 watt supply and i put the biostar p4m80-m4 mother board and still almost nothing i say almost because every once in a while ,not even every time, the cpu fan will turn just for a sec like it is going to come on then zzzzzzzz nothing it just stops!!! i just dont know where to go from here

    For me, fan fluttering always signaled a bad motherboard/cpu.

    Since you replaced the motherboard, my guess would be the CPU. If the power supply blew out like most emachines, it coulda taken the motherboard, cpu, and RAM out with it.

    you will probably have to buy a new copy of windows, since you cannot use the restore cd.
