My sister brought me her desktop and wanted me to reformat it. After reformating the hdd I desided to upgrade the memory from 128 to 384.
The stick of 256 memory I got doesnt seem to work with her pc. I was wondering if this model emachine has something different than regular PC133 SDR DIMM?
And if it does, what do I need to buy?

The computer is a 1ghz machine so I think its well worth upgrading.
Any ideas would be great, thanks!

I think it is the RAM

from what it looks like, your RAM stick might be bad? Is there any way to test it inot another machine?

Those PCs need 168-pin PC133 SDRAM but with CL=2 (same as most older Dells).
CL=2.5 or CL=3 won't work.
Thanks for the reply.
Now how can I find memory that is CL=2?
