A friend of mine has an eMachine T5026 and his video has died. He is trying to replace the video with a PCI video card and the monitor turns itself off after booting up. The video card that is in the machine is integrated into the motherboard and we cannot figure out to make it see the pci card instead. He can view the screen in safe-mode only. Can any help me please.

The eMachine motherboard is the T-5026 has a large number of reported early failures.
You can usually go to Start->Control Panel->System->Hardware->Device Manager and disable the existing PCI Video, then attempt to install the replacement after a reboot. It is sometimes wisest to download the drivers first, and install them so you know where they are... then you the device manager to load them after you are certain the old install in the Device Manager has been disabled.
