Email Attachment Problem

  1. Email Attachment Problem: If I attach a word processing file to an email and send it to someone who has the same word processor, the receiver can not open the file without first saving it to their hard drive, then re-opening it. If you click to open directly in the email, it says "a file by XXXX name does not exist" However, the file name it states is a distortion of the correct name, It even does this if I email myself. I cannot figure where to start looking for the problem. Suggestions accepted!

    May I suggest you try posting a HijackThis log here and I'll do a quick check to see if your system is infected.
