Epson FX-2190 Ribbon Gear not spinning

Hi can I ask for your assistance, Epson FX-2190 ribbon is not moving so that the print output was blurry and faded. How can I fix it? tnx.

Note: The warranty of this printer was over, so I cannot return it to the manufacturer.

If bought with credit card, may have extended warranty.

"not moving" is difficult to diagnose as it probably needs 'hands on' evaluation, but you can try:

Remove and inspect cartridge.

Clean cartridge and cartridge receiver and ribbon drive assembly (a slight build up of paper waste, etc could misalign). Watch for a slipped belt.

Try a new cartridge.
