error Bad CRC, stop post

  1. I have a T23 giving me a bad CRC, stop post message at startup.

    Can't find the error on IBM's site.

    Can someone point me in the right direction?

    Thanks Howard. I did finaly find it on IBM, said system board. I pulled the screen for a T22 and I think I'll set it on the back burner.

    Sure would like to know how they go about recovering them though.

    CRC errors are memory related. A problem with some type of memory access, whether CPU cache or RAM or hard drive or even video memory. If that memory has a CRC check in it. CRC errors usually mean that memory has to be replaced, as it's going bad.
