problem has not gone yet

hi again cpc2004

It happend again

*** win32k.sys - Adress BF8ADE90 base at BF800000, Datestamp 41107f7a

now i recieved BSOD at login

It's memory dump along with two previous ones is attached.
It will be useful to have a last good look on them :) thanks.

Anyway i have conttacted my vendor and they agreed to replace damaged parts. (I'll replace mobo and cpu)

note: i can not reattach previous files.

I too had another crash this time it said Driver_IRQ_Not_Less_OR_EQUAL
Here is the minidump below. I did replace my PSU. now I am windering if its either my CPU or MB.

Cheers,
Boxer.

Ok, so I finally got my error report from the blue screen....
----------------------------------------------------------
A problem has been detected and Windows has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer.

If this is the first time you've seen this error screen, restart your computer. If this happens again, follow these steps:

Disable/Uninstall any anti-virus software, disk defragment software, and back up utilites. Check Hard Disk configuration and check for driver updates. Run chkdsk /F to check Hard Disk corruption.

Technical Info:
***Stop: 0x00000024 ( 0x001902FA, 0xF7C66900, 0xF7C66600, 0xF76FE73F)

Dump of physical memory complete.

----------------------------------------------------
I'm having the same issue as all of these people. Every time I am doing something important (essay for school, finishing clients layout) my computer likes to shut down, quite annoying. Do you guys think you could help a poor little bugger out?

Computer Sepcs:
AMD Athlon XP 3000+

Asus NFS-7 MOBO
Sapphire ATI Card (9600xt) 256mb

Seansm88,

Bugcheck 24 is usually related to faulty ram. Zip 5 to 6 minidumps and attach the zip file. I will study the dump and find out the culprit.

To Seansm88

I had exactly the same problem that you are having. After several days of frustration and testing and restoring I removed the last memory stick that I installed (ULTRA 256MB) THE PROBLEM DISAPPEARED FOREVER.
I also tried that defective memory stick on another PC and it started doing the same thing. I sent it back to the vendor and I got my money back

Seansm88,

I've studied your dumps and I believed that it is a hardware probem. You get 4 different bugcheck codes at 4 different routines. Especially hal!ExAcquireFastMutex+0xf belongs to hardware abstraction layer. HAL is well test and it is unlikely to crash unless it is hardware error.

thanks CPC -- I'm going to rewind to the driver suggested (I am currently using the latest drivers)

I'll let you know if the problem persists

You are a lifesaver!!!

still getting problems

CPC I have installed the driver you suggested. This may well be the issue, however now the machine instantly crashes whenever I try and change the screen resolution from 800 * 600 upto to 1024 by 768 which it used to operate at fine before.

Any suggestions -- is my graphics card the problem?

I also have a nebula digit tv card installed (had this a long time without any problems though)

thanks in advance

Radio Head 1971,

After the installation of nVidia display card version 61.77, if it stilll crashes, it is a hardware problem. Attach the latest dump here.

Ok I replaced my RAM and wow it was damaged. Small amounts of melted and burnt areas. I also replaced my Video Card and CPU fan. I had my CPU and MB tested and they seemed to pass all tests.

SO far I have ran the system for 4 days with no Error messages. And that is great.

Thanks everyone for helping out.

Cheers,
Boxer

Hi Boxer

Thanks for sharing your experience. Failure at IRQL 28 (ie 0x1c) may be caused by faulty ram. It is a valuable information. However it also makes the hardware trouble shooting more difficult. As failure at IRQL 28 may be triggered by faulty CPU, M/B and RAM. You are my fifth cases of failure at IRQL 28. 3 are caused by faulty CPUs, 1 for M/B and 1 for RAM.

SP@ and restarts

I have the same issue,... I tossed out a perfectly good geforce 4 vid card thinking it was a bad card.

The error says error caused by device driver, on later crashes it tells me error caused bu graphic driver,... it then tels me to fix the problem turn off the 3d effect on the card, and lower resolution.

Ok thats not a fix microsoft!! why would I even buy a 256 meg card anyway, if it didnt have gaming ability?

Since it did it with my geforce 4 fx5700LE nvidia card, and now its doing it with the 9250 radeon sapphire card,... hmm I thinks its a windows issue!!

But everybodies pointing fingers at each other in the industry about it!!!

The local repair shop said to simply get rid of SP2 and run SP1,... you'll be alot happier!!

ok I did what you guys said

ok now that Im getting the blue screen of death now Im getting the following message:

OK then I went into the admin options and puled this in the event veiwer under the words section

Any ideas on this???

I think this is faulty ram and I expect you have a huge Doctor Watson log. Attach the following files here. I will study the log and get back to you my finding.

C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Documents\DrWatson\user.dmp

BSODs driving me crazy!

Much like everyone else here, I too am having the same IRQ_Not_Less_or_Equal BSODs... plus a few others. :suspiciou There is not a singe day in the week that my PC does not BSOD a minimum of 2 times. Playing any game only makes the BSODs worse. Besides the BSODs my applications crash for no reason at all too. Worse of all, sometimes my PC just violently dies as though someone had reset the power button. No BSOD message, no app. error.. nothing, just dies.

After getting these for months on end I swapped the mobo and the CPU with new ones. No luck. There is no difference in the behavior. Swapped RAM, same thing.

I tried uploading my Minidumps here but got errors when trying to upload the zip file. Anyhow, I uploaded it to my server.

Kenji,

I've studied your dumps. 9 dumps with memory corruption and usually it is cache memory error at CPU. 9 dumps failed at IRQL 28 (ie clock level interrupt). IRQL 28 is a stable routine, it crashes only if it is hardware error. 1 dump fails with nt status code 1d (illegal instruction). All the evidence show that it is the hardware error at CPU or motherboard. I have 6 confirmed case, 5 are faulty CPU and 1 is the faulty M/B. Replace the CPU may resolve your problem.

I am afraid that you will have a huge Dr Watson log at the following folder
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Documents\DrWatson\drwtsn32.log. If yes this is another evidence of hardware error. As the hardware error occurs at user mode, Dr Watson writes the debugging information to drwtsn log.

Hello I am having this same problem, though it almost only occurs when running Championship Manager 4, 03-04 and FM05, I got the following information from the BSOD:

Technical Information:

***STOP: 0x0000008E (0x0000005,0xBF837815,0xF3E44C3C,0x00000000)
*** win32k.sys - Adress BF837815 base at BF800000, DateStamp 422511a2

Beginning dump of physical memory
Physical memory dump complete

I also checked the computer management events and found some errors:

Error code 1000008e, parameter1 c0000005, parameter2 bf837815, parameter3 f3acaa68, parameter4 00000000.

and

The msdirectx service failed to start due to the following error:
Access is denied.

Thank You

Dan1988,

One of the dump crashes with memory corruption. This is symptom of L2 cache memory error of CPU. Replace the CPU or downclock the RAM may resolve the problem.

Hi Kenji,

I've studuied your dumps. 9 dumps fails with IRQL 28 and 9 dumps fails with the memory corruptions. This is the symptom of faulty CPU problem. Replace CPU will resolve the problem.

cpc2004 thanks for your quick reply,

Could you tell me how to downclock the RAM, before I have to replace CPU

Thanks again,
