Error when trying to add hardware

That is a good thing.

First link is for your 915G chipset, I didn't say that in the last post.

Do the INF update and the BIOS.

Let us know

I did the intel chipset and i still get the same error. I like how it says to click finish and go to troubleshoot, but doesn't take me there or tell me where it is.

When I download the file for the motherboard I can't read what it has to say

That was the INF update for your chipset, you just download and run. Nothing to see except to follow the prompts.

Alos where do I get the bios to disablet those bios

The second link I provided, takes you to your motherboard's manufacturer's web site. You have to enter your motherboard model as I have explained, then select all (downloads), you get a page with Drivers, BIOS, Utilities and manual. You want to download the latest BIOS. You will also need a BIOS flash utility, find it on the same page. This is just a file and a utility that will burn the new BIOS image file on to your BIOS chip located on your motherboard, After the flash, you have to enter BIOS and load the defaults then change some values according to your configuration and preference.

I did the intel chipset and i still get the same error. I like how it says to click finish and go to troubleshoot, but doesn't take me there or tell me where it is.

Hmmmm ... I never seen it ask that, it should prompt you that it is going to install drivers for your chipset, and then ask you for confirmation a few times, then it would say I am done and you re boot.

Would it be easier to see if i reload windows and see if that fixes this?

That is a good option, but do the BIOS update, after the update load the defaults, I will look in your manual for you and suggest what values to change and then you can re install Windows.

Read the "how to flash the BIOS" if you are not sure, just ask.

After the INF and BIOS update and setting your BIOS values, then we would be on the same page and we can look at other issues if you still have any by then.

The error was on not with the chipset install it was when i tried to install the new device sorry for the confusion. Thanks for the help though

I downloaded that BIOS file from the site and now i have a file called "Realtek 5032" from here what should i do there are a lot of files and items within that folder

Alright i have the ASUS update on the computer i go to use it i get an error that says SIOINFO.DLL incorrect then it goes to the program and i get a windows error and says unable to get biosinfo plus it gives error message w. option to send report or debug. what do i do about this?

GHawz13, sorry to say, but your computer is not doing anything normal at all!

A reload is a very good option at this point. But keep in mind that you will have to back up your personal files and data, and set aside a good amount of time for doing it all, your updates, program reinstalls, Antivirus etc... Making sure you repartition and format the drive.

If you still want to attempt fixing this, the "data invalid" still, and only, suggests that there is permissions problems in the registry or elsewhere.

If this were my PC, I would be going in Safe Mode, hacking out all traces of the two drivers, checking and changing all the permissions, removing the cached drivers from the INF directory. Deleting any previous drivers, downloading the latest ones, cleaning out my temp files, updating Windows, and THEN giving it another try to load the devices.
It could take more time to keep fighting this then it would to reload.

The short-hand version of that is, you could uninstall, and delete, and remove references to your drivers (with the devices unplugged). And then run the driver again BEFORE plugging anything in. But the data invalid message still suggests that the driver cannot install itself in the registry.

This could be an easy fix, and hopefully someone will stumble on the fix for you. But my personal suggestion would be to reload, IF, that is feasible for you. Otherwise you could take it to a local PC repair shop. It is hard to troubleshoot now without being able to see everything and check everything.

I hope I don't sound like I'm "giving up", but still, your computer doesn't do ANYTHING right!

Good luck

Agreed.
Still think we should update the BIOS, and perform a fresh install only after we are certain the motherboard jumpers and BIOS values are setup.

That tells us that you didn't download the BIOS but did manage to download the Audio drivers somehow.

After you download the BIOS, you have to make a bootable floppy and put the extracted BIOS image file on it with the flash update utility.

You can not run the BIOS file from Windows.

Haven't checked your manual yet but most recent ASUS boards have a built in feature to flash the BIOS.

I believe you press F12 or another key and F12, if this is the case, your disk does not have to be bootable.

Well I am not that computer inclined when it comes to programming and this stuff so I called someone up and hes gonna hopefully solve the problem for me next week. I thank you all for the help.
