I have Windows XP and recently when I tried to restart my computer it gave me a message showing "fatal error" somthing and would not load any further. I tried many times repeatedly but still no change.
Then I inserted my OS cd to reload the whole operating system, and it would start installing but after 10%, 16%, or even 40% it would go to a blue screen which says :
"A PROBLEM HAS BEEN DETECTED AND WINDOWS HAS SHUT DOWN TO PREVENT DAMAGE
THE PROBLEM SEEMS TO BE CAUSED BY THE FOLLOWING FILE: PARTMGR.SYS
DRIVER_UNLOADED_WITHOUT_CANCELING_PENDING_OPERATIONS
TECNICAL INFORMATION:
*** STOP: 0x000000CE (0xF87c0667, 0x00000000, 0xF87c0667, 0x00000000)
PARTMGR.SYS"
if someone can PLEASE HELP ME, I would really appreciate it. I am away from home at college [1st yr] and I really need my computer for my masters program, I can only use my friends for so long. PLEASE HELP!! any kind of feedback would be nice. thx!!!!
ps I also have a picture of the blue screen if someone wants to see it, I dont know how to post it on here though
