Ethernet LAN won't work

Hi, I'm new to the board. I have a problem with my ethernet connection. Supposedly I'm connected and sending and receiving information through the LAN but I can't access the internet except with wireless. I'm not sure whether this is likely a problem with settings on my computer or with my modem or what. I've tried resetting the modem, but no luck. If anyone has any ideas I'd really appretiate it. Thanks.

Need more details about your network setup. Do you have a router connected to your cable modem? Are you saying you have one wireless PC that is able to access the internet and a wired PC that can't? Can the PC's see each other on the LAN?
