I was just about to start my scan with malware bites when I thought I had a registry problem

now when i click on anything i get a spy bot box telling me it cannot find the malware bites exe file or cc cleaner or even the cmd in run what the hell did I do? also I have never seen this spybot box before i did change the settings per the instructions before malware start thanks

This reply is a snipit from similar cases. You should uninstall MBAB - it is likely corrupted. Problems with 'command prompt' suggests that the Message # 3 link is appropriate for your case (os = xp is assumed).

thanks so much for reply . I have to get in xp via safe mode but becuase of the

problem I cannot access the internet becuase it is not recognising my atand t usb stick!


so should I downl load to disc or is the a way of getting on line with the safe mode I could send the firle to my other computer via email? Thanks

No way to access Internet in regular Safe Mode.

But you may do it in Safe Mode Networking if the Malware will let you!

Or as an alternative put on a CD or Flash drive.

If you can get on with Safe Mode Networking, then do the following in order.

Copy all inside the box and paste to an open Command prompt. It will close the Command prompt when finished.

D/L install and run ATF-Cleaner clear all except passwords in all browsers you have. Run repeatedly until no more found.

No install, just run it delete all it finds decline to reboot on each item found, until the program finishes then reboot.

Xclean will run minimized and will pop up a window if it finds anything. If it finds nothing it will exit.

Please make a note of what it found if any as it has no log.
If it finds several things reboot to Safe Mode and run again before continuing below.

When above is completed reboot back to Safe Mode Networking and do the following..

When Fixit.cmd finishes it will reboot to normal, then the below is the meat what we need to run to really get fixed:

Skip no steps (do not install another virus scanner as you already have one).

Most importantly update MalwareBytes and SuperAntiSptware!

Before you scan with SuperAntiSpyWare do the below:

SuperAntispyware extra config

After installed double-click the icon on your desktop to run it.

Update the program definitions.

Click the Preferences button.

Then Scanning Control.

In Scanner Options make sure all boxes are checked except #3 Ignore System Restore.. are checked:

MalwareBytes extra config

After update but before running
Click settings and confirm all are Checked.

I repeat Update these 2 programs.

Run them and attach their logs.

Do this correctly and we will make a short job of this!

I love tech spot! I have not tried the examples yet but just want to thank evryone at tech spot for the help and advice. Your the type of guys who stop when they see the old or weak changing a tire .
