I've got few problems that just showed up on my comp after i restarted after an xp security patch update. When i boot up, explorer fails to start (i get the standard "explorer.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close...). After all the things that are going to load do, i go to the task manager and click "new task" to try and start explorer that way. Task manager gets the same "has encountered and need to close" problem as explorer. This happens everytime. I have to ctrl+alt+del again and close the unresponsive task manger window from the previous ctrl+alt+del. Obviously i cannot even start any program so i cant go into the control panal and uninstall things. is there anyhting i can do to fix this? Edit: The same thing happens in safe mode also. And after the task manager fails the first time, the dr. Watson debugger also fails and needs to close. BTW, i'm getting on firefox by clicking the "click here" when the first error pops up the going to "view policy on the web". Firefox also crashes when i try to open a file (like go to the c drive and open an exe or got to file > open file) usually without an error report pop up box.
