Hello all,

Forgive my ignorance, but I would appreciate some suggestions for a new external hard drive. (Actually, it's a bit of late Christmas shopping.) I need a USB 2.0 hard drive that is backwards compatible with 1.1. It doesn't need to be massive--I'm thinking in the vicinity of 80GB--but the faster it is, the better. I'm considering spending something in the range of $100, give or take 30 bucks.

I would be grateful for any advice. Thank you for your time and patience.

Best regards,

Matt Jaynes

you can buy a USB to IDE converter for less than $20 on ebay. You can build a simple hard disk housing out of plywood for a few bucks also.

OR you can buy an external hard disk adapter..... but they cost more.
