External HDD recommendation?

Hi, I am looking for a good external HDD for my huge storage (musics, applications, games etc etc) I used to have a 120 GB Samsung external HDD but then i notices error once in awhile when I've copy large files into it and next trying access the file it would said corrupted files or inaccessible, it reals frustrating I need good backup HDD any input would gladly appreciated.

Might be worth purchasing a 500gig internal IDE drive and then buying an external enclosure of your choosing. Should be cheaper to do that, and you have full control over the thing (no need for any extra software to be used).
