Facebook has released a new standalone app that is centered around the social network's Groups feature, which the company says is used by around 700 million people every month. Dubbed Facebook Groups, the app is now available in all countries on Android and iOS.

The new app makes it easy for you to manage and navigate groups. Compared to the main Facebook app, where you access Groups by tapping the More tab, then scrolling down to your groups, and then tapping again to open a complete list, the new app opens directly to a screen containing all your Facebook Groups, with those you use most frequently placed at the top.

You can quickly create a new group, move between each group, share information, post photos and links, track notifications and easily control which notifications you want to see, and more. There's also a Discover tab, which contains groups suggested to you based on Pages you’ve liked, groups your friends are in, and where you live.

If you are a regular user of Groups, you might want to give the app a try, but if you aren't, there's no need to worry as Facebook is not removing the feature from the main app. That said, there's no assurance that the company will not do so in the future, given that it recently stopped allowing messaging in its main iPhone and Android apps, forcing users worldwide to instead download the separate, standalone Messenger app which had existed since 2011.
