Fan placement help

    Hey,

    I just recently added another 80mm fan to my case, making it 1x120mm and 2x80mm. I put it on the sidepanel as an exhaust, but I'm wondering if I should make in an intake fan. My other 80mm is in the front as an intake and then my 120mm is in the back as an exhaust. I chose to put this fan as an exhaust because it sits right across from the CPU which has its own fan on it. I assume that the CPU fan is drawing air AWAY from the cpu, but does it actually send cool air towards the CPU? I figure this is important because I know that the air flow is supposed to be in the same direction in order for the cooling to be effective. Any thoughts on this are appreciated.

    Thanks,

    -Mike

    IMHO you should make the new fan an intake. Most cpu fans blow cool air onto the heatsink.

    This is how fans are normally placed.

    Front=intake

    Side=intake

    Rear=exhaust

    Top=exhaust
