Fast writes again (sorry)

I have an Ati Radeon 9550 256 mb running at 8x and i have Fast writes turned ON, when i have them ON I notice an increase in overall performance, and my games doesnt seem to be affected.
I dont have the fast writes option in my bios , though when i run SMARTGART
it turns em on.
Also somebody told me that If i lower the graphic acceleration level in the displays properties panel , that could help to increase performance when running 3-d apps , is this true?

I don't think ur second point is true coz graphics acceleration is what gives ur computer the power to run 3-d apps. Regarding ur first point however, fast writes speed up the transfer of info from the GPU to ur monitor, hence the better performance. In some cases though, it causes display corruption but that not an issue for u ATM. If its enables in the Catalyst Control Center, then its on and u don't need to worry about it in the BIOS.
