Figuring out processor type?

By pcgamer808

  1. After about 4 months of putting up with a crappy PCI video card, I've decided to upgrade my mobo to something with PCI-E. I found a nice mobo on Newegg that supports both socket 478 and PCI-E but only prescott processors. Now I'm thinking that my processor is a prescott but I want to make sure. I kept only the documentation from the processor which tells me nothing about its type, but dumped the box while cleaning a while back so I was wondering if anyone knew any programs or tricks to find out what type of processor you have in your machine (prescott, northwood, etc.)
