I have XP SP2. I have indexing service disabled. Sometimes I do want to find files through Start Menu>Search>Files & Folders.
For some reason it simply won't find files that I know, 100%, are on my hard drive. Example, I will search for msconfig.exe which I know is there because I can find it in explorer. Other files also, it just refuses to locate. It's annoying because then I have to go and manually find the file, which could take forever. And yes, I have checked my spelling
any thoughts on what could be wrong? I am on a fresh install of XP, less than a week old, with all updates installed. I had the same problem before also.
Thanks!
