Finding my incoming and outgoing server name

I hope I am posting this in the right place if not I apologize. I am trying to set up Mozilla Thunderbird, could you tell me where to look for my incoming and outgoing server names? Or even a good tutorial to help me. Thunderbirds asks "enter the name of your incoming server(for example mail.example.net) it says the same for outgoing. If my email address is at yahoo.com is this what I put? Thanks so much, I appreciate any help you can give.

check with your isp
it could be mail. or incoming.
and outgoing could be outgoing. or smtp. some even use the mailin mailout
your isp website will give you step by step for diff browsers
