I forget exactly the name of the add on, I originally
started using it to do as the name implies - to clear
Private Data when I close the internet connection.

(Edit - not sure if it's an add on or where it comes from.
Just tried turning it off, can't even do that! ???)

BUT every time I close the internet connection,
a window opens where I have to click a box
to perform the operation. Getting awfully tired
of having to stop and do that before I can do
anything else.

Is there a way to set the things you want to close
and then it'll do it automatically without that
aggravating window?

(2nd Edit: Did a Search, found a tip site that shows
how. Go to Tools, Options, Privacy, then you can
select what you want to clear and whether or not
you want to be asked every time you close FF)

Why can't Windoze programs be more intuitive to
operate? Everything's gotta be a friggin mystery
unless you already know the entire path to scroll thru 20
windows to finally get to what you want to do!
Oughta be called Circles cuz that's what it always
does - runs a person in circles when you're trying
to figure something out! AFAIC this pretty much
sums it up! http://www.snopes.com/humor/jokes/autos.asp

Thx!

Go to Tools > Options > Privacy Tab. Look for the box that says "Always Clear Private Data before closing Firefox" if it's checked uncheck the box. Or if you want to clear your private data and just don't want it to prompt you, leave the box checked and uncheck the box says that says "Ask me before clearing private data" And what your having isn't a Window problems, it's just a feature in firefox.

Yes, this is a feature within the Firefox browser and does not require an add-on to do it.

I don't know what's suppose to be funny about the feature- you can select 'always delete' or 'always ask' and you can also select specifically what data you want deleted.

AND you can access directly also from Tools> Clear Private Data.

The box doesn't 'show up'- it has to be requested. What you posted is correct. I am simply adding that the 'clear private data' function can be accessed directly from Tools without going through Options> Privacy.

Absolutely correct - I found it after poking around in a bunch of different spots. Not something one goes into frequently enuf to remember where it
is after a significant interval.

If you want to know where Firefox hides it`s entire config data,

type :about:config in the address bar, click go.

You can change every single thing Firefox does, from there.

So you got it figured out now? Correct?
