firefox and media player??

hi,

I've got me a lovely lappy and of course the 1st thing i did when i was online was to download and install the newest version of FireFox
2. sumthing

anyway i go to watch videos on sites like streetfire etc which use media player but i get install missing plugins ... i click that but i have to manual install it
im guessing its a direct-x issue as i found a test page and all the results pointed to a direct x problem

im using media player 11
the latest version of FF
my GFX card is x1300

if anyone could help that would be great as its annoying to have to open up IE7 everytime i want to watch vids

And Media Player 11 does work in XP, it's an option to download in Windows Updates if you don't have it.
