Firefox instalation question...Profile

I want to install (Not update) a new version of Firefox.
When I install it, will it see my older version of FF and retain my current profile? Or will it just wipe it out and give me a new one?

Don't laugh, but I currently am using 3.6.28. It works for me with no problems, but I think it is time to upgrade to a newer FF version.

So, what would happen to my original profile? I have made a backup of it.

Why not just use the Update - - it's been working well for me. Been using FF for years and now, after successive updates, I am on 30.0.

Be that as it may, I am sure your profile will be kept - - but you may need to reinstall any extensions and addons with a new install.

I think FireFox will automatically upgrade the profile. Update to the latest version and all you probably need to do is manually update add-ons if it didn't do it automatically.
