My firewall has caught Firefox 1.0.7 accessing
virtual-aus.mozilla.osuosl.org

Might well be an automatic update for one of your FF_extensions

I run FF naked (ie: no extensions what so ever).

update: the firewall just caught another spurious access to
205.241.46.28 (taubz.for.net) and I've added it to my list of DENY I/O addresses.

also this AM, I ran the Winsock reset cmd (log file attached)
just to purify the tcp stack. Side-effect was Runtime Error in C++ library
during startup, but system still runs.

In addition, before FF was launched, I had Thunderbird running and just guess...
the cursor started dancing!

This is getting fun!

EDIT BOGUS info; Upon further investigation, google for 'mirror sites mozilla'
reports this list of mirrors
and the OSU site is valid.
