Hi I was wondering if I should run a software firewall? .. I have a netgear rp614 v2 router at the moment. I currently use that aswell as SP2's on firewall. Is a software firewall advised?

No, you don't really need a software firewall if you trust all the other computers on your LAN.

You might want to replace that silly MS product if you want to do something advanced like open up ports for faster p2p transfers or have better control over what applications can do.

Any recommendations on what I might replace it with and is upnp safe?

UPNP is not a safe thing..

UPNP means that an application can open ports on your router. Meaning that if you run the wrong kind of program someone may gain full access to your network.

There are several "best firewall" threads on these forums. Browse them at your leisure.
