Fixation Error

  1. Hi Guys

    When ever I write a CD, at the end it says "Burn Failed: Fixation Error" It happens 9/10 times and its really pissing me off.

    Hello and welcome to Techspot.

    3 possible causes are.

    1 low quality media. Try using a different make of blank disk.

    2 you may need to update the firmware of your drive. If you decide to do this. Make sure you follow all the instructions carefully.

    3 you have a dying drive. Self explanatory.

    Hi Howard,

    1) I have tried sony, imation, and almost all other "good" cds. Result being the same.
    2) What is firmware and how do I update it? (sorry im not computer wiz!)
    3) I bought this computer just 1 yr ago... bloody Acer

    You will be able to get the latest firmware for your drive, from the drive manufacturers website.
