Dong Nguyen, creator of the wildly addictive mobile game Flappy Bird, confirmed on Wednesday that he would be bringing the game back to the App Store. In a reply to a question on Twitter about the game’s return, Nguyen said the title will be making a comeback but not anytime soon.

The game originally hit app stores on May 24 of last year but flew under the radar (no pun intended) until earlier this year. Seemingly out of nowhere, the game exploded in popularity thanks to its simple yet frustrating gameplay mechanics.

Despite the fact that the title was raking in around $50,000 in ad revenue per day, Nguyen pulled it from all app stores at the beginning of last month. In a recent interview with Rolling Stone, he said feedback about the game – like a mother that stopped talking to her kids, people that lost their jobs and kids that broke their phones – ultimately led to his decision to yank it.

It’s unclear at this hour why Nguyen had a change of heart but naturally, many people are still skeptical about the whole thing. Was he really confused, frightened or upset about the whole situation or was his decision to pull the game and eventually bring it back a calculated marketing ploy to build even more hype around the game?

We’ll probably never know for sure but those that missed out on Flappy Bird mania the first time around, you can download the game here

The feedback he got from the game was from trolls lol and I knew he would miss that $50k a day!!! He probably shot his toe off from that decision xD

Don't forget about the Google Play store for Android users. Remember, isn't the only one and we can't make it for Apple only and ignore the others

This is all some kind of social experiment intended to test out crowd behavior and manipulation
thats why its been taken down its a major part of the experiment
no one would take down a $50000 app bc some kids "broke" their phones over the game thats pure bs

by the looks of it I would say the people acted like the initial experiment intention was going for
like a mindless mass who all go after the lamest game possible because of external social forces

if this kind of feat can be pulled then setting the public's mind about some political matter would be achieved just the same way if you knew the mechanism to do it well
