Flash Cards and Flash Drives

  1. Do flash cards and flash drives use the same technology? If so, would a utility designed for flash cards work on flash drives and vice-versa?

    Yes, they use the same flash chips for storage. As for the utility.. It depends on what you want to do.

    On application level a drive is a drive is a drive and there is no difference between working with a hard drive, a flash drive, a memory card, a zip drive, whatever.

    yes- they are more or less the same.
    I have a PCMCIA card that uses SD cards (used in cameras) like a hard drive.

    Makes it VERY easy to transfer photos.
