Flash drive stopped working

Hey all.. not sure if u will b able 2 help.. but ne thoughts would b greatly appreciated!

I hav 2 computers.. 1 running winXP pr SP2 the other is WinXP Home SP2
I hav 3 flash drives which hav all mysteriously dies in the last week.. i dont know if this is bad luck or something wrong.
One flash drive i think i damaged by dropping it.. now its stuffed and is not reccognised. thats not a problem i understand that.
Next my other flash drive died after putting it into 1 computer then the next.. its name has changed 2 "poo disk" i find this peculiar and it needs formatting which it wont let me do. On the other computer its called "Removable disk" and says it needs formatting but also does not work.
Now my last and most important flash drive has also died on me.. i was copying something onto it.. and it was working fine. I removed it correctly.. then put it into the other computer.. now it doesnt show up.. the computer doesnt even know its plugged in.. and the light on it doesnt work.

This may be a long shot.. but im thinking mayb a virus? any help 2 fix this?

Get or borrow a new flash drive and try it in the non-seeing computer. If it also fails, there may be a way to reinitialize the USB ports

sounds like a virus to me with the name "poo disk"
