Folder Name request on bootup

I am using Windows XP Pro. 2 Problems. First issue is whenever I bootup a box appears which says Folder Name on top. There is a space where I can list what I what the folder is to be called. It says "New Folder" in blue by default. How do I stop this from happening?
Second Issue. Apparently my copy of Windows XP pro is not authorized and the Windows Update Site will not let me download. How do I handle this without having to reinstall Windows?

issue 1: if its possible to put up a pic of it or clarify that bit more?
issue 2: not authorised as in not activated or as in dodgy?
if the latter, chances are we:
a) would redirect you to google for the answer yourself
b) tell you to go to the local pc shops where you can purchase a brand new copy that garuntees you it works (cheaper if you're a student too) and the infamous m$ call center.
