About a month ago, I posted that the IDE connector could not be detected in the BIOS. What it came to is that the connector was faulty, so I returned the motherboard for a new one. All is well now. I would like to give thanks to the good doctor Kimsland who came up with several things I could try and test. I feel I did a thorough job before sending it back, which to me is important because I don't want to send back a perfectly good component because of my own ignorance.
