i am building a computer and trying to decide what would be the best graphics card. the nVIDIA riva 128mb...also known as the viper 330, or the 3dfx voodoo 5 68mb? i know theese are older video cards...but im trying to build a pc meant for doom1&2, quake 1&2, duke nukem, and such. please help.

I conquer. Glide is nice for those older games. I have a V5 here and it's wonderful for 800x600, 4xAA.

Just be careful of newer mainboards. 3dfx Voodoo5 cards will NOT work on most Socket 478 Pentium 4/Celeron mainboards as they are the older AGP form (PCI over AGP bus, actually). The voltage on most newer mainboards will not work!

I'd also recommend Win98se or ME rather than XP for older games. The 1.04.01 Beta drivers + 98se/ME on the Voodoo5 is a really awesome combo for retro gaming.
