Forever 21 gets caught pirating Photoshop, Adobe sues

As an amateur artist who used both extensively, I can tell you that GIMP can't do one-tenth of what Photoshop does!

The last time I played with GIMP, it wouldn't even do what was possible with Photoshop Elements.

It certainly won't do what the latest version of PSE (13) will do. It's 64 bit, and has virtually all of the RAW editing ability of Adobe Lightroom.

The lack of non destructive editing & low memory usage of Adobe's "Adjustment Layers", has always been what made it stand apart from other editing apps. We can only hope the patent expires on them soon.

I will say, since you can't even install an Adobe program now without a current Adobe account, the longer their dominance in this field continues, the bigger pain in the a$$ they become.

This is why I hate big companies as the ceo will make millions off the back of the workers and rip them off left right and centre and people go he is so cool, just a low life piece of crap who would not work for what he pays his staff.It should be in all cases a fair days pay for a fair days work.

While I personally dislike Adobe as a company that does not give me the right or anyone else the right to steal from them. Justifying a bad/unlawful action because you don't agree with the company is not the proper way to proceed. In most cases like this it's a disgruntled employee that tells the software vendor of the violations.
