    I have a Sony Vaio Windows xp media centre edition and i stupidly forgot my password to get into the computer. does anyone know how i can override the password or reset it without actually entering the system? please help!

    Seriously,It's done in the bios.

    i mean without actually having to log into my account on the computer...i was told that it could be reset through entering the bios or by going into safe mode....can you explain how this would work please...i'm a bit of a computer dunce...thanks

    Read your manual

    I guess you don't have one,is that right ?
    Well it's all explained in mine.It's in the bios Boot Tab/Security settings.
