Formatting a Write Protected DVD-RW

  1. simply put i can't format my DVD-RW. it says that it's write protected and aborts formatting. is there a way to remove the Write protection, via command prompt maybe?

    Hi there. Do you have any drive emulation tools (for example, Daemon Tools or Alcohol 120%) installed on your system? Sometimes these can be the culprits.

    Uninstall them, then continue. I've seen this problem caused by drive emulation tools before.
