Fps stay's the same with X800XT after switching from 6600GT

  1. Hey everyone.
Ok i'm a little confused here.
I purchased the X800XT All in Wonder 256DDR AGP 8x and received it yesterday, eagerly putting it in I installed the CD drivers and then deleted them with the driver cleaner and put the latest ones on my PC, after that I cleaned my Pc of all other graphics drivers.
This was fine, however on playing games like Doom3, Farcry and Quake 4, I didnt notice ANY difference in my FPS when compared to my 6600GT 128DDR AGP 8x
Doom3 still gave me a timedemo score of 39.9 (sometimes 45) or lower, which I found strange since people have reported it giving them upwards of 65+
Quake 4 still stuttered in similar places and didnt appear to show any difference in FPS whatsoever.
i'm quite disappointed and have started to think that maybe i've wasted my money, i'm also starting to think my card may be bottlenecked due to my AMD Athlon XP 3000+.
Can someone please shed some light on this for me and maybe tell me if i'm doing anything wrong? hint's tips or whatever are appreciated :p

    Specs are.

the x800xt is bottlenecked by your processor! i would try to overclock the processor to @ least 3200+ if you were to get a faster processor then your card would be able to function better!
