Free anti-virus & firewall thats works with Vista??

  1. I am purchasing a new laptop system with Vista Home Premium. Can anyone recommend free anti-spyware, anti-virus and firewall that is compatible with Vista Home Premium or am I better purchasing software to cover all this?

On my old laptop I used AVG anti-spyware, AVG anti-virus and Comodo firewall. Not sure about the Comodo firewall as it never seemed to come up with any intrusion or block attempts, seems a bit strange!

    Thanks for any help.

Vista comes with a firewall as standard, similar to Zone Alarm or equivalent. As for anti-virus and spyware, off the top of my head I am unsure of any truly tested or designed-specific programs.

Google it ... there may be some out there. :grinthumb

AVG free is compatible with Vista.

Apparently, this free firewall is compatible with Vista.

McAfee, Norton, Avast and AVG are some I can name off the top of my head that have Vista versions ready. As far as Firewalls go, only the PC Tools Firewall is currently working on Vista.
