Free Halo with Vista

Now i dont know about you guys but i recall a while back before vista was released
microsoft said that people were getting a free copy of halo when upgrading to vista or purchasing a pc with vista included.

the game was supposed to come installed already

Am i right? or was i on something?
if its true then what happened?

PS: not sure if it was halo or halo 2

Ive never heard of Halo coming for free but there was a pretty big uproar when MS announced that Halo 2 was a Vista only title, wont work with XP but I think there is a hack for that.

There is. There are two, if I am not mistaken. One from Falling Leaf Productions (?) that you must pay for and one free from Razor 1911 (I think that is the correct name, but not sure on either)

oh ok i must have gotten confused and assumed vista was including a free copy of halo

Thats pretty cool, i hope Halo 3 comes out for PC soon.
