but then again, knowing microsoft, i will probably have to download some more patches by the time i get it.

I guess it would be handy when you are doing a fresh installation and don't want so spend an eternity downloading the patches since the original release of the OS.

I think this is an awesome thing for Microsoft to do. I just spent 3 hours yesterday updating a fresh install of 98SE on a DSL connection(40KB/s). This will save me a lot of time.
