Hello, I have just recently build a computer and I'm having some problems with it. It would freeze when I leave the computer alone and that's it. It's fine when I'm using it. I will sometimes leave music on, but then suddenly hear it stop when I leave it alone. Can someone help me? Everything in my computer is brandnew except for the two Harddrives and Cd and dvd rom. At first I thought it was the screen saver, but it still froze. I think my monitor has a hibernation mode, but I don't know how to turn that off.

    Specs.
    Windows XP Service Pack 2.
Two Nvidia GeForce 7600 with SLI on.
    3.4 775 intel processor
One gig of memory made by G-skill.
Gigabyte GA-8N-SLI Pro Socket T (LGA 775) NVIDIA nForce4 SLI ATX Intel mother board.
One harddrive is 120 gig and the other is 320. They are both made from Western digital.
    Silent Fan Power Supply Model:CXI-Series.

Sounds like it might be over heating. Do you have the proper ventillation? How many system fans do you have?

CPU Heatsink / Fan ? Thermal Paste?

Check to see if your motherboard came with any monitoring tools and check the heat levels for the CPU and Case.

Are the CD and DVD drives on their own IDE channels? If not, unplug 1 and test.

Are the Hard Drives on the same IDE channel? are they even IDE? SATA? SCSI?

    SO MANY QUESTIONS!

does you BIOS have a smartfan option? If so- tell it to leave the CPU fan on all the time.
hibernation can be turned off in control panel under power options.
