Front page news Vb code issue

I just posted a comment on the front page news (on the current music industry story), and spotted what seems to be a problem with the use of Vb tags.

I attempted to bput two terms on the same line in italics () but when I did so, the comment displayed with a line break after each italic term. I then edited the comment, changing the italics to bold, and it then displayed as expected.

During the edit, I noticed that there were no line breaks inserted into the posted text as it was submitted, so it's purely a matter of how it was interpreted and displayed.

I don't know if this is a known issue, but I just thought I'd mention it anyway...

    Hi Spike,

I wouldn't consider this a bug, but because we use [ i ] tags on the frontpage news to insert a line break and some indentation (used for quotes), this is the same kind of behaviour you are seeing when using the tags in a comment. Thanks for reporting the problem though.

    No problem :)

It's nice to know why though, so thankyou.
