Fujitsu Laptop Shuts Down

I have a Fujitsu Laptop Lifebook Series C.
The last few days it will sometimes just shut down, and will not start up again. Sometimes it will not turn on at all. Other times it will stay on for a long time. When I took it to my brother's house it wouldn't turn on at all. At my house it will stay on longer in in some rooms of the house and hardly work at all in other rooms of the house. But in the rooms of the house where it works the most it will still shut down sometimes.

This is a recent problem, I have never had before. It always used to work all the time in every room of the house and whereever else I would take it.

There is no problem with the operating system.

Okay obvious question first... is the battery charged? Have you got the mains adapter plugged in?

I have a Fujitsu Siemens Amilo D, and it sometimes refuses to turn on even when the battery has some charge, unless the mains adapter is plugged in.

The battery isn't recieving any power at all.
Yes every thing is plugged in correctly.
