Further help with allsexsms

  1. Would anyone be able to help getting rid of allsexsms. I sent a log in November but I must have made a mistake implementing the instructions from RBS. I have scanned with House Call, Spy Bot etc. I am now using Mozilla Firefox which is fine but problem is still in system and appears when using IE.

    Grateful for any advice.

Reboot in Safe Mode, then run a scan with Hijack This again.

Place a check mark next to the following entry:
    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [AdsBlocker] C:\Program Files\AdsBlocker\stopAds.exe
Hit "Fix Checked", then find and delete the "stopAds.exe" file and reboot.

Thanks - allsexsms - further question

Many thanks Vhunter - I removed AdsBlocker as suggested. I also removed the dazzler.exe file and directory which somehow survived the original clean-up and emptied the Documents and Settings/User/Temp directories again. It really seems to have done the trick as we have not had the pop-up since.

One related problem still exists as my children use MSN Messenger and the link to their e-mail accounts from MSN opens MS Internet Explorer which we are trying not to use. We tried to change the MSN default internet explorer to Mozilla Firefox by uninstalling and re-installing MSN messenger while using Firefox but this failed and MSN still opens IE.

Sorry if this is a basic question - is there anything you can suggest?

    Thanks again.

MSN is coded to open with IE, there's nothing you can do.
