games on dual monitor setup

  1. I've just seen Skotches two monitor setup in the photo gallery section and was well impressed, my question is this - is it possible to play games stretched across the two monitors?
Would you need a special gfx card to facilitate this?
Finally, are there any games that take advantage of two monitor setups specifically? (i.e imagine a flight sim where one monitor represents the cockpit view and the other displays the instrument panel)

I know X2:The Threat allows you to have a cockpit view on one screen and external/enemy/instrument on the other monitor. From what I know it only works with Nvidia cards at the moment.

Flight simulators in general come to my mind.

    LNCPapa, thanks for the link.
I'd spent the best part of a day looking for the information listed and from what I've so far seen, dual monitoring does'nt appear to be a worthwhile proposition as very few games are supported and those few will only work with nvidia based cards.
I hope this situation changes soon as crt monitors are currently very cheap and multi screen gaming is definitely the way to go as far as I'm concerned.
    Thanks for the input people.
