games wont run on XP?

Ummm, this is probably an easy one, but my daughter has been messing around on the comp, and now it wont run games.

I think it's just not accessing the cd rom properly ie, it doesnt even seem to look for the disc.

I'm very new to XP so don't condemn me too harshly...

Without knowing exactly what the problem is, its hard for us to advise you. If we could sit down at your machine it would be different, but its not.

First of all, we need a more detailed description of what's wrong.

If you go into "My Computer" do you actually see a CD-ROM icon?

Try reinstalling the game, then post back if that doesn't work.

Yeah, both cd devices are thre, and reinstalling the games makes no diff.

if I choose a game in programs, select the "RUN" option, nothing happens, it doesn't even look for the game on CD. just putting the disc in, and letting it Autostart does the same thing.

I,m sure she changed something when she was playing her "saddle club" game. Everything worked fine up to then.

It appears to be an autorun type prob. That popup box doesn't even come up anymore asking what app. to use.
