Garbled and goofy sound...

I have a Dell Dimension 4550, Windows XP SP2 (Home Edition), 1GB RAM, 2.8GHz CPU, and most importantly my sound card is a Sound Blaster Live! 5.1. For as long as I owned this computer, every spec of sound that came out of this computer was clear as crystal. Now today, everything sounds like crap, when I play music it sounds all garbled and compressed-like. I can't stand it. I think I went through every single setting in the control panel and in all the applications that come with my sound driver CD. When I listen to video game music, it sounds like some channels are missing. Can anyone help me?! Please?

Uninstall the current sound drivers in the Device Manager and install the latest ones for your machine here.

If that doesn't work, make sure there isn't a resource conflict with your components in the Device Manager.
