  1. My computer is a gateway model 1150. I have a brand new hard drive with windows XP on it that i put in this computer. It beeps once, pauses, then beeps 3 more times quicker than the first one. It does this twice. There is no picture on the screen. :knock:

Please use proper thread titles from now on. Thanks.

    Hi
Remove the drive or at least unplug the pata (wide cable ide) or sata cable and psu connector and try to boot the system.

When i first turned it on i suspected it was the graphics card or the BIOS but yesterday i put the original hard drive in it and when the battery was in the computer and I PLUGGED it into the wall. It immidietly began to click. When I removed the battery and tried again it showed the GATEWAY screen then entered MS-DOS mode asking me for a command. I dont know what to command it so that it will boot up using only the BIOS so i can go in and maybe make some changes and look at the files on the hard drive.
